We will get to know each other, the tools we will use and the policies of the course. We will learn the basics of data, summarizing data numerically and visually. We will compare experiments and observational studies and discuss generalizibility and causality.

We will define probability, calculate expected value and variance. We will define discrete random variables and use Bernoulli, binomial, geometric, Poisson, and discrete uniform distributions.
